India became the first team to lose a player via a hit-wicket dismissal in back-to-back T20Is

Shreyas Iyer

When Shreyas Iyer was out hit-wicket in the second T20I against New Zealand, India set a rare record. Before his unfortunate dismissal, the batter appeared at ease.

He made 13 runs off 19 balls, including a four and a six. India made history by having a player get struck for a wicket in back-to-back T20I games.

Earlier, during the ICC T20 World Cup semifinal match against England, Hardik Pandya was dismissed in a similar way.

At the Adelaide Oval, Pandya was out on the final ball of India's innings. He scored 63 runs before knocking over the stumps.

England crushed the Men in Blue by ten wickets before defeating Pakistan in the championship game to win the trophy.
